Mini turns car into a real time digital billboard

30961The iconic British car brand Mini, which was made famous by The Italian Job movie and by 1960’s model Twiggy has created a cool LED car which can broadcast Tweets, Facebook posts and Vine videos from random people. The LED car was developed by Mini (which is now owned by the German car manufacturer BMW) as part of Its Not Normal advertising themed campaign and is covered with 48,000 LED bands, effectively turning it into a mobile digital billboard inviting customers to post comments in the form of Tweets and Vines with the hashtag #MINIartbeat or to post Facebook comments from Mini’s app.

As part of the campaign, Mini will be driving the car around London inviting onlookers to engage socially with the car. Customers can also view the car in real time on Mini’s Facebook page.
