Top social media sites earn €4 billion in ad revenue

The most recent advertising revenue figures indicate that the popular social media sites – Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter earned a combined €4 billion in 2012. Despite accounting for such a massive chunk of marketing spend, a reported 62% of advertisers and 70% of agencies are either not sure or don’t know how to measure the return on investment on their social media activities.
