It’s hard to imagine our lives without the use of one form of digital media or another. It’s even harder to fathom that digital advertising only really evolved 25 years ago when in 1987 Apple introduced the Mackintosh which featured Hypercard, which is widely considered the first ever multimedia tool. Since then, digital advertising has evolved from basic static images to complex interactive advertisements designed with the help of tools such as Quicktime, Photoshop, Adobe illustrator and Flash.
The explosion and proliferation of social media through the use of mobile devices such as the iPhone and iPad has created a plethora of new and innovative opportunities for digital advertising such as location based and multimedia ads making digital advertising a veritable rich field for advertisers to plunder.
